Shoal Bay West

Shoal Bay West is the serene, unhurried counterpart to Anguilla's most famous beach. While Shoal Bay East - on the opposite end of the island - draws the island's largest crowds with its beach bars and snorkeling reefs, Shoal Bay West exists in a different register entirely: quieter, more private, and more refined, with a long sweep of powdery white sand, calm turquoise water, and sweeping views across to St. Martin on the horizon.

The beach sits on Anguilla's far southwestern tip, just west of Maundays Bay, and shares the same west-southwest orientation that makes this corner of the island so compelling at sunset. As the light drops each evening, the water turns gold and the silhouette of St. Martin deepens against the sky - a scene that draws guests from the beach's handful of exclusive villas and the restaurant strip for the island's most uncrowded golden hour.
