Waves is Sandy Ground's hidden beach treasure, tucked away at the far south end of Road Bay on the site of the former Mariners Resort. Owner Olivia Garlick, an English expat, physically transplanted the entire beach bar from its original Meads Bay location to this spot, creating one of the most genuinely special beach experiences in Anguilla. The venue features a distinctive resin bar top (the first of its kind on Anguilla), comfy couches, beach chairs on the sand, and a covered patio overlooking the water with the lights of Sandy Ground's boats bobbing in the bay. The menu features beachy finger food and hearty mains: loaded hand-cut fries in Classic (sour cream, bacon, cheddar, spring onions), Triple Cheese, and Chilli con Carne variations; crispy chicken wings; fish bites; sliders; the legendary steak sandwich on a grilled baguette with Swiss cheese and fried onions; an 8oz burger; cajun spiced mahi mahi; curried chicken on rice; and grilled tofu for vegans. The bar serves signature cocktails including The River (cucumber and lime infused vodka, fresh mint, citrus juices, club soda), rum punch, and a full bar. Bartender Javy is known for the best rum punch on the island. Live music and events are held regularly. Takeout available. Open daily for lunch and dinner. Closed Wednesdays. Directions: take the left turn just before Roy's as you enter Sandy Ground and follow the signs through the gate and down the sandy path.
