Fort Karl is a short but steep climb from the Gustavia marina to a hilltop lookout with fine views over Shell Beach, the harbor and the sea. Little remains of the old Swedish era fort itself, but the panorama and a tower viewer make the ten to twenty minute walk worthwhile. Wear sun protection as there is little shade.
