Getting to Anguilla keeps getting easier. Back when this post first went up, BermudAir had just announced plans for direct flights to Anguilla from the U.S. Those flights are flying now under a new brand called AnguillAir, and the first season has already wrapped. Here is what actually happened, what to expect onboard, and when service comes back for winter 2026 to 2027.
The original plan covered two cities. The real launch covered three. AnguillAir's first season ran twice weekly nonstop service into Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport (AXA) from Boston, Newark, and Baltimore/Washington, timed to line up with the opening of Anguilla's new airport terminal.
What Is AnguillAir?
AnguillAir is a seasonal sub-brand created by BermudAir, the Bermuda-based airline known for its boutique service and onboard cocktail menu. Anguilla is the first place outside Bermuda that BermudAir has added scheduled flights to, and the AnguillAir aircraft fly with their own branding separate from the main BermudAir fleet. The plan, according to the airline, is to build out seasonal Caribbean routes one island at a time, and Anguilla is the first stop.
The Three Nonstop Routes to Anguilla
AnguillAir's first season ran twice weekly on each of three routes, all flying nonstop into AXA. Here is how the schedule broke down.

On every route, the outbound flight leaves the U.S. in the late morning and lands in Anguilla in the afternoon, while the return flight leaves Anguilla in the late afternoon or evening. Return times shifted slightly later partway through the season as the days got longer. Schedules can change from year to year, so always confirm current flight times on flyanguillair.com or flybermudair.com before booking.

AnguillAir's launch lined up with the opening of Anguilla's new passenger terminal at Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport (AXA) in December 2025. These were the first new international flights to operate from the redeveloped terminal.
The Aircraft: What to Expect Onboard
AnguillAir flights are operated with BermudAir's Embraer E175 and E190 jets, the same aircraft the airline flies to Bermuda. Both are configured in two classes. The E175 seats 10 passengers in business class and 60 in economy, while the larger E190 has 8 business seats and 88 in economy. Either way, this is a full regional jet experience, with BermudAir's usual focus on friendly service and a real drinks menu, not a puddle jumper.
Why This Matters for Anguilla Travelers
If you are flying from Boston, Newark, or the Baltimore/Washington area, AnguillAir means you can land directly on Anguilla soil at AXA. No ferry, no connection through St. Maarten, and no hopping over from San Juan. For the greater Washington, D.C. area in particular, the BWI route is currently the only nonstop service to Anguilla offered from that region.
If you are traveling from anywhere else in the U.S. or beyond, the route most visitors still use is flying into Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) in St. Maarten and taking the ferry across to Anguilla from Marigot. That remains the most frequent and flexible way in, and it is what most of our ferry coverage focuses on.
What Anguilla's Government Said About the New Routes
Anguilla's Minister of Tourism, Hon. Cardigan Connor, made the point that even a great tourism product 'holds little value if visitors cannot easily access our destination.' He called the new direct flights a significant step for the island's tourism industry, especially as Anguilla's accommodation offerings continue to expand.
Hon. Jose Vanterpool, Anguilla's Minister of Infrastructure, connected the new routes to the bigger picture at the airport, saying the opening of AXA's new terminal 'marks a pivotal moment for Anguilla's economic future.' He also pointed to a phased expansion plan for the airport, including a longer runway to handle larger aircraft and more passenger and cargo traffic as demand grows.
BermudAir's CEO, Adam Scott, has talked about the Anguilla routes as a smart use of the airline's fleet. Bermuda's busy season and Anguilla's busy season do not overlap much, so moving aircraft between the two destinations keeps planes flying instead of sitting idle, which Scott has described as routes with useful 'counter-seasonality.'
Season Two: AnguillAir Returns in December 2026
AnguillAir's first season ran its full course and wrapped up in April 2026. BermudAir has confirmed that seasonal service to Anguilla resumes in December 2026, with full schedule details to be announced closer to the start of the season.
